The Year of Applying

I’ve decided that 2024 is going to be the year of applying, I’m keeping a close eye on upcoming opportunities and throwing my hat in the ring when feels right and when feels scary.

It has paid off so far.

I’m delighted to be taking part in Short Circuit’s Convergence writing course, where I’m developing a short film script and a feature film treatment with brilliant guidance from David Pope.

I’ve also been awarded the Gaelic Playwriting Bursary from Playwrights’ Studio Scotland, which is a year long development including sessions with a professional playwright, a weeks residency and a day of development. This is such an exciting opportunity and I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in to my new play ‘Uanag’.

And very recently I found out that I’ve made it to the Longlist for the David Maclennan Award, which is absolutely crazy. I’m down to the final 30 and now have to go and write my play ‘Eilidh Eilidh Eilidh’ - fingers crossed it’s a good ‘un as the 3 finalists will have their plays performed at Òran Mòr for Play, Pie and a Pint.

I hope to keep the updates more regular on this page, but we will see!
